North India - 15-31 OCTOBER 2011
Our 2010 trip was a great success! Have a look at the previous brochure in the PDF below for an idea of what it was like.
We will encounter one of the traditional sources of the Holy Ganges river, Gangotri (3048m), where we will spend 3 days and nights enjoying the crisp, fresh mountain air, with daily yoga and meditation practice as well as trekking to the Gaumukh glacier (3892m).
We will spend 5 relaxing nights and 6 enriching days at the Rainforest Guest House 3km upriver from Rishikesh, a holy city and the home of yoga on the River Ganges. Rishikesh and its surroundings provide the backdrop for visiting temples like Neelkanth, Vashistgupha, Rajaji National Park - a wildlife reserve which is home to elephant, various types of deer, peacocks - and of course, a daily yoga practice.
The group will be limited to 12 people. Participants should have an existing (basic) yoga practice, an open mind and a sense of fun and adventure. As well as a daily yoga and meditation practice, there will be moderate, sustained walking at altitudes of between 1000-3500 metres on some days.
This journey begins and ends in Delhi. Our excellent local travel agent can help you extend your trip to include the Taj Mahal, Rajasthan, or any other place of interest if you would like to arrive earlier or stay longer.
For everyone's greatest benefit, this is a drug, drink and smoke-free holiday!
